Julie was born in Little Falls, New Jersey and discovered her
love of singing and acting at the age of 5. She has performed since then in theaters across New Jersey and New York City.
She received her BA in Theater Arts from Marymount Manhattan College in NYC.
Julie began performing at a children's
theater called Essex Youth Theater in Montclair, NJ. She took classes and was a company member for ten years. Throughout middle
school and high school Julie began performing in community theater, regional theater, and even made her acting debut in NYC
at the age of 13. Every performer has that pivotal "aha!" moment when they realize this is what they have to do.
For Julie it was a few weeks before she graduated from 8th grade, Mr. Colavito (affectionately known as Mr. C) handed her
a flier announcing auditions for a summer-teen production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" happening in a neighboring
town. Julie was skeptical at first, but decided to go ahead and audition. Julie landed the role of Pilate (it was a modern
version, so picture 90s working woman power suit with slicked back hair in a tight bun) and was the youngest in the cast,
acting alongside all the big high school kids. That summer, Julie realized that this was something that she needed to do!
She has always looked back on her time with that production as the greatest few months of her life, where she not only felt
inspired, but at home.
Julie continued pursuing musical theater by taking classes nearly every night of the week
and performing in every show possible (some years doing over 20 productions)! Along the way, Julie has made some friendships
with amazingly talented people who have inspired her immensely. Now she lives in New York and actively pursues her lifelong
dream: to perform any way she can.
